In temperature-sensitive applications such as incubators, heating chambers, or brewing systems, maintaining a precise temperature within a set range is essential. In this guide, we demonstrate how to configure the TCN5 Series Temperature Controller to work between 45°C and 50°C, using its built-in hysteresis control function.

This video tutorial showcases how to achieve:

  • Output ON when the temperature drops to or below 45°C
  • Output OFF when the temperature reaches or exceeds 50°C

This type of control is perfect for avoiding frequent on/off switching and maintaining system stability.

III. Step-by-Step Configuration

1. Enter Parameter Setting Mode:

  • Press and hold the SET key for 3 seconds to enter the parameter menu.

2. Set Control Mode to ON/OFF (PID:OFF):

  • Find the parameter PID (control method), and set it to OFF for ON/OFF control.

3. Set the Desired Set Value (SV):

  • Set SV = 50.0°C, which is the upper limit (cut-off point).

4. Set Hysteresis (oH) to 5.0°C:

  • This will create a lower limit of 50 - 5 = 45°C.
  • So, heating turns ON at 45°C, and OFF at 50°C.

5. Ensure Output is Set to Heating Mode:

  • Output type should be configured to Heating (reverse), so output activates when temperature is below SV.
