M6 / M8 Threaded Temperature Sensor Probe (K, E Thermocouple or Pt100 RTD)
Threaded bolt-on temperature sensor for heater bands, moulds, platens and machine bodies. Choose a K or E type thermocouple element or a 3-wire Pt100 RTD element, an M6 x 1.0 or M8 x 1.25 metric thread, and a braided high-temperature lead cut to your installation length.
- Threaded ring probe bolts directly onto a heater band, platen or machine body for close thermal contact with the measured surface.
- Element options: K type thermocouple, E type thermocouple, or 3-wire Pt100 RTD — specify to match the input of your temperature controller.
- M6 x 1.0 and M8 x 1.25 metric threads are stocked; other thread sizes are produced to order.
- Braided high-temperature lead resists abrasion and mechanical damage on moving or vibrating machinery.
- U-type crimped terminals land straight on controller screw terminals with no extra preparation.
- Standard lead lengths 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 m; any length from 0.2 m to 5 m is produced to order.

Frequently asked questions
Is Pt100 a thermocouple?
No. Pt100 is a platinum resistance temperature detector (RTD) wired with three leads, while K and E are thermocouples that generate a millivolt signal. All three are offered in the same threaded body, but the controller input type must be set to match the element fitted.
Which element should I order — K, E or Pt100?
Use K type for general heating up to 800°C, E type where you need more signal per degree up to 600°C, and Pt100 for accuracy and stability below 400°C. If the controller is already installed, order the element its input is configured for.
What thread sizes are available?
M6 x 1.0 and M8 x 1.25 metric threads are standard. Other thread sizes, including inch threads, are produced to order — send the tapped hole size or a sample with your enquiry.
Can the lead length be customised?
Yes. Standard lengths are 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 m, and any length from 0.2 m to 5 m can be produced. Alternative terminals and connectors are also available.
The temperature reading falls when the machine heats up. Why?
The two thermocouple leads are reversed. Swap them at the controller terminals and the reading will follow the process correctly.
